Bereits seit Jahrzehnten tourt der renommierte Schauspieler und Theaterregisseur David Taylor im Auftrag des "Vienna English Theatre" durch Österreich, Italien und Süddeutschland, um die Jugend an verschiedenen Schulen ins Theaterspielen eintauchen zu lassen.
RS9 beweist beim englischen Workshop
theatralische Qualitäten
Einen ganzen Vormittag lang spielte sich die RS9 unter seiner professionellen Anleitung durch zwei von ihm adaptierte Shakespeare-Stücke. In witziger Atmosphäre zeigten einige SchülerInnen der Klasse während sie in verschiedene Rollen schlüpften ihr Talent im Sprechen der englischen Sprache sowie im schauspielerischen Darstellen.

Die Szenen von "Macbeth" sowie "Pyramus and Thisbe" wurden von David Taylor gefilmt und geschnitten. Als Ergenbis darf sich jeder Schüler der Klasse den fertigen Film inklusive Outtakes mit nach Hause nehmen.

David was born and educated in Jamaica. He trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art, in London.
He has toured and performed extensively in theatres throughout England. He has also played in the London Premieres of Ken Kesey‘s “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest”, Tennessee Williams’ “Kingdom Of Earth”, a musical version of Wedekind’s “Lulu” and the leading role in Paul Prescott’s James Bond parody “Doctor Never say No To Russia Again”.
Television credits that have had screenings in German (although dubbed!) include: “The Prizewinners”, “The Secret Army”, “Dempsey and Makepeace”, “Wild Justice” (with Christoph Bucholtz), “Fatherland” and “The Seven Deadly Sins”.
Film appearances include: “Papillon” (with Dustin Hoffman and Steve McQueen), “Hawk the Slayer” (with Jack Palance), “Living Doll”, “Wimbledon” (with Kirsten Dunst and Paul Bettany) and “Just Ines”.
David has been associated with Vienna’s English Theatre for twenty-six years, as Actor, Director and Tourneeleiter for the Schools Tours. He has also acted in their main theatre in Vienna.
For sixteen years, he has also been successfully directing English Theatre Workshops and Projects in schools throughout Austria, Southern Germany and Northern Italy (Südtirol).
As an author, David has written “The Hound of the Baskervilles” for a Vienna’s English Theatre Tour.
He has also written and directed plays that have premiered, in English, at Austria’s oldest theatre, in Grein an der Donau. They have been performed by Matura students of the Europagymnasium, Baumgartenberg, as an ongoing Theatre Project. Two years ago, after thirteen years, the Kiwanis Club of Oberösterrech awarded the Project a Prize… ‘KULTURAUSZEICHNUNG für Schultheaterprojekt’.
